Unidingo
Unidingo is a student lead social media company that focuses on bringing university communities together through an exclusive app for UK students. I was lucky enough to work for them for 6 months working in both the design and marketing departments.
Digital Marketing Ambassador (August 2024 - September 2024)
When I first joined Unidingo I acted as a student ambassador. My role was to actively interact within the Unidingo app whilst also creating student related social media content incorporating the company and their values. During this time I was given more responsibility by the CEO by interviewing and onboarding other new employees which was a new and exciting experience for me. By showing initiative and determination I was singled out and chosen to join the central team of Unidingo as the Head of Marketing.
Head of Marketing (September 2024 - November 2024)
By being the Head of Marketing I was managing a small team of around 10-15 Digital Marketing Ambassadors. We would work together to create content for the main Unidingo social media channels. By being in a management position, I was able to get first hand experience in leading a team focusing on productivity and organisation. Throughout this, I also created content of my own to set the example of what my fellow ambassadors should be doing and in what way.
My additional responsibilities were meeting with the other department heads and the CEO frequently to discuss company and brand strategy in addition to constant user outreach and hiring outreach across WhatsApp and LinkedIn.

Head Graphic Designer (November 2024 - January 2025)
After re-evaluating my goals and my position, I decided to transfer to the design department working as the Head Graphic Designer for the company. While in this role I redefined our brand values and communicated this to the entire company while demonstrating the rules that should be followed. I redesigned the brand image including their logo and brand assets such as colour palettes and typography. These decisions were collated into a brand guidelines document which was sent to the entire company.
I was also in constant communication with the current Head of Marketing working together on static social media posts for Instagram and LinkedIn as well as still outreaching where I could to keep the hiring process flowing.

In conclusion, I am incredibly grateful to Unidingo for giving me this amazing opportunity. I've gained experience in various different fields and I got to grips with working with an amazing company that strives to change the student communities in a positive way. From a design perspective, it really helped me grow due to being introduced to working with brand guidelines and logo requirements for a real business so it shall help massively in the future.
