ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY
During my second year at Loughborough University, I was briefed to work with a live partner of my choice and was expected to identify, explore and develop a conceptual social design outcome that will centre on a specific problem statement. The challenge I chose, referred to how do the staff of the Royal Shakespeare Company ensure that their theatrical productions staging is more sustainable through the use of new technologies and materials?

The aims of this project were to enhance my reflexive understanding of the social, cultural and economic roles of visual communication and enabled to me to identify and develop methods of problem solving and production. In response to this challenge, I created an app that allowed RSC to track their carbon emissions per production therefore making the company much more aware of their actions with the supplementation of being persuaded to use more sustainable materials and methods within the app.

I was ecstatic with how this project came out as the final product was so clean and clearly got the message across. This was my first project focusing on UX/UI design which was clearly developed and I gained a huge amount of understanding of these softwares, especially Adobe XD. I hope you enjoy flipping through!
(This was a brief overview and a peak at the research that I conducted to gain a better understanding of the company and the theatre industry as a whole).
As part of this brief I was also asked to create a persona to get a greater understanding of the audience I should be targeting while creating an app given the brief mentions the uses of new technologies and methods which may be unheard of for particular audiences.
The process of making these screens and the app itself was so fun and I look forward to capitalising on UX/UI design again when I have the opportunity. Apart from the creation of the app I also took the opportunity to create various mockups in order to visualise the app in the urban environment and to use in my pitch deck when submitting this project to my university tutors.
